Thats seriously spicy, and since neither goes up in cost on that build and some of their guns get marginally better, these are a much more appealing option. Any turn you get to play with it isextremely stupid it has a casual 30 move so can essentially teleport around the battlefield with impunity, its weaponry and melee threat are dangerous and broadly applicable, and to cap it all off its a MONSTER rather than a VEHICLE, shutting down some armies answers to it. I never expected discontinued units to get rules in this book, its an unfortunate truth that we are only ever really going to get current tournament ready rules for models that Games Workshop still produce, however I am a little surprised that some units that you can still buy on the Forge World website do not get rules in this book that said, even with that small caveat there are an absolute truck load of units in this mighty tome! There are a couple of grumbles about missing units that are still available that do not have profiles, and sadly a few formatting errors here in there with incorrect battlefield roles and power values, which is a little bit of a disappointment in a 40 book. This seems a really fun way of making Titans useable in a normal game, and Im looking forward to seeing how my titans fare as soon as we are able to film battles again! Being able to drop in a caster from this discipline without having to use an HQ slot on a Warlock is something that can plausibly come up. The 9th Edition Imperial Armour Compendium was released on October 30, 2020. He did also get whats probably a downgrade in being declared a Terminator, but if you were planning on warping him in anyway its much of a muchness. The Tarantula Battery also makes the move to a Fortification slot, making taking 3 units of these very tempting for some objective defence! This is a much better way of the unit working and makes my life as a Krieg commander much easier in terms of having to previously try and fence off the crew to stop them getting charged! #warhammercommunity #warhammer #warhammer40k #oldhammer #oldhammer40k #40k #2ndedition #2ndedition40k #tyranids #tyranid #nids #paintingwarhammer #painting #paintingminiatures #miniatures #miniaturespainting #hobby #wargames #wargaming #metal #alien #hivetyrant #warmongers, Awesome fun stream working on the 90s Hive Tyrant! The Grey Knights also get a couple of updated profiles with a renamed Land Raider Banisher, getting a small points discount and a Grey Knight specific Thunderhawk getting a massive discount in line with the new profile elsewhere in the book. The Hades Breaching Drill can also finally carry Combat Engineers too, something that was overlooked in the previous index. It got both cheaper and bump in firepower, making it an interesting option for someone who wants to go in on vehicles. of Forge World units that, at the time of printing, are supported. Unsure, but in the meantime it is very much still a Land Raider, with all the problems that entails. The big greater daemon models are still neat, but you arent really going to field them. I had emotionally prepared myself for this, but it looks like I will, in fact, be needing to change the paint scheme on my Wraithseer before putting it on a tournament table even once, as they have completely changed but at least not necessarily to the point of being unusable. At least they are 10 points cheaper now for every build except double claws (which stayed the same). imperial armour compendium 9th edition pdf trove. Finally,AdMech get the same incredibly busted improvements to the Termite as everyone else, and keep their two Secutarii datasheets. The Imperial Knights get profiles for all Knight variants currently produced by Forge World including some much appreciated points cuts! 800 pts, but what do you get for that? This website uses cookies so that we can provide you with the best user experience possible. People are sad about the leviathan, but before the compendium he was approaching a Knight in points, had terrible rules, was more expensive than the loyalist version and his guns were average. The Barbed is a pricier beast, but has some mean guns and a 2+ save, making it a spicy Greater Daemon tier hitter. Its also a really well organised book making it much easier to use both during a game and while creating your list. Today we see the new Imperial Armour Compendium up for pre order from Forge World! #warhammercommunity #warhammer #warhammer40k #khorne #angron #worldeaters #40k #arksofomen #paintingwarhammer #paintingforgeworld #painting #paintings #miniatures #miniaturespainting #warmongers #ad. Really like the changes so far! If youd asked us to pick units that were at real risk of just getting nuked from orbit in a re-write this would have been high on the list, so it getting to keep doing its thing, only even better, is a huge relief for nid players. This makes the Exalted Daemons much easier to take in a game, and I cant wait to include them in lists again as they are some of my favourite models and deserve to be on the battlefield again! No longer will you have to flick back and forth to the very back to find your factions points!
PDF Warhammer 40,000 - Imperial Armour Compendium.pdf - 9th Edition The Dreadclaw Drop Pod and the Chaos Terrax Pattern Termite are the big winners here, both being nasty threats that help deliver Chaos Space Marines to the battlefield in interesting ways. Theyre still not amazing they dropped from being toughness 9 down to toughness 8, though picked up a bit of improvement in their guns. Last for this section, theTaunar almost certainly works out as a loser. Its much easier now to drop in a single thing without needing to fill out an additional slot, but youre less likely to be taking multiple. Kind of everything else. Why are there no pictures of the vehicles. Each void shield is a 3 wound pool that has to be eaten through before the vehicle itself takes any damage, and that pool cant overflow so if a lascannon hits for 6 damage the void shield will absorb 3 damage, and the other 3 will just vanish. Now, sure he's a bit less survivable with t7 (and not a 4++ in cc, oh noooo) but his guns are sort of better and he's so cheap. At the moment this profile only applies to the Macharius twin variant, however it would not surprise me to see that profile in the new AM book! All told, the leviathan takes a substantial hit to both offense and defense, balanced out by dropping all the way down to a base 220 points, and only up to 240 with the common double storm cannon loadout. Credit: Jack Hunter. Enh the smaller daemon princes here seem OK but not great. Also gained the -1D taken Dread ability we have seen the Marine Dreads get, got an extra base attack (reasons), and got 5 points cheaper. This book is absolutely stackedwith content, and up front we have to be clear we are not going to go through every single datasheet line by line, as theres far too many for us to possibly do that. TheValdor Tank Hunter is in a similar boar where it got a decent discount, but lost some oomph in exchange, and doesnt really end up as a desireable package overall. The points have gone up a little, but taking everything together Ithink theres still a unit here, just sitting in a very different role than we used to see. We will be taking a look at some of these units in greater detail over the week once we have had a chance to crunch the numbers, but my initial reaction is positive here with some cool options for adding some fun units to bolster your Space Marine army. So if you were debating trying it before, it is certainly more tempting now (but still D3 damage, ugh). Otherwise it keeps its 5+ invulnerable save, regeneration, and the ability to move over enemy models. Their Phoenix Lord, Irrylith, is less exciting, mostly just being a damage dealer, but isntawfully statted for what he is, certainly looking more appealing than, say, Fuegan. Thankfully they do also get a small benefit in the ability for a vehicle to fire on a 4+ when they are killed, making it a danger at times to take out Krieg vehicles, especially ones with nasty weapons! Imperial Armour Compendium is an Imperial Armour book for the 9th Edition of Warhammer 40,000. Fundamentally, the ability to build yourself an incredibly deadly melee missile at a cut-down price is restored, so I guess enjoy that! They killed my DKOK, thanks a lot after buying a Gorgon. We see quite a few units get tweaked to remove degrading profiles too, such as on the Blood Slaughterer. ability rather than regularWaaagh!, meaning that you need an alternative boss if you want to buff up infantry. The deathshroud build feels like the play, and the fact that this loadout is over 120pts cheaper than in CA is kind of mind boggling. In addition to being recommendations and not rules, theyre just kinda boring. Some had vastly over the top rules for their relatively cheap points levels, while others seemed far too expensive in points for their in-game performance. As a bonus, leviathans can now take nipple volkite, rather than just heavy flamers. Sicaran Omega. Any weapons that Forgeworld doesnt currently make in 28mm are gone, so goodbye to reaver chainfists and carapace weapons that arent the apocalypse missile launcher and warlord carapace weapons that arent apocalypse launchers or laser blasters. The Dreadspear melee attack is now 3+D3 damage, vs D6 minimum 3, which is a nice boost, but it does lose Impaling Lunge so no more chance at mortals on the charge. The premium it pays for having built-in deep strike is massively lower than it used to be, and being able to deploy from the webway removes the worry about it getting punked straight off the board. All of the Artillery platforms and Mortars now do not count the crew as a separate unit, and you simply ignore them for the purposes of combat, they are just for show now! Like with the other forces, the Xenos factions also see some tweaks and adjustments to their datasheets, along with some points updates We will be digging a little deeper into each of these factions later in the week in some more detail, but theres some great changes across the board. Combined with the contents of the new Space Marines Codex you will be able to carry the torch for these under represented armies! Generally, this replaces the old Relic rule now each time you include a unit with this rule in a detachment the Command Cost of that detachment is increased by 1. Titan Legions have had a massive boost in this book! The Imperial Armour Compendium is available to pre-order from Friday. We also have full reviews of both Codex Supplement: Space Wolves and Codex Supplement: Deathwatch, both also up for preorder today! Greater Blight Drones are also way better, especially in Death Guard, despite losing the damage on their weapons. I hope this is something we see for other less known chapters in the future, even if it is in White Dwarf articles. And now for the biggest gut punch: None of the Dreadnoughts listed here have the HELBRUTE keyword, meaning that until an FAQ corrects this, they dont get legion traits. Throughout the week we will be taking a look in more detail at some of the changes in profiles across the armies, along with taking a look at the Death Korps of Krieg to see if they can finally compete on the tabletop with these new rules, so make sure to stay tuned to the site! Void shields now work in a much different way essentially while they are active you have a 5+ save, and each generator has 3 shield points each time you fail a save you lose a shield point, any excess damage is wasted, meaning you want to try and force them down with low Damage weapons to get the most benefit once a shield hits 0 points it collapses, but if you dont collapse it in a turn then it regains all its points in the command phase. Also the only weapon that costs points now is the Arachnus Storm Cannon (which costs the same as before effectively), so every other weapon load out is cheaper now, which is cool. Thank You, Patrons. 9th Edition Imperial Armour Compendium: The Goonhammer Review By James "One_Wing" Grover October 31, 2020 Forge World formed a key part of competitive play in 8th Edition, offering a wide range of additional options for some factions alongside some very cool models for players who wanted to try something different. Finally, the dark horse that I am hoping doesnt turn out to go anywhere of the units in this book with titan in their name, the Revenant Titan is probably closest to being decent in a Strike Force game. Having to use a Lord of War slot on this is, obviously, kind of terrible, but its also extremely hilarious, and has been pushed hardenough cost wise to make it at least fun to use. Warhammer 40k - Imperial Armour . Notice it also isnt CORE, so maybe no rerolls for you in the future. Imperial Fists converted Carab Culln Leviathan Dreadnought. Most notably, its aura now has a 6 radius, making it even easier to use it to shield your forces. It did pick up the ability to use the previously 30k exclusive Twin Volkite Culverin, a heavy 8 volkite gun. Imperial Armour Compendium 40k Rules Breakdown One of the best parts about the book in our opinion is that the points costs are at the end of each section! You have to agree that is a massive amount of profiles available in the book! Lets look at how things shake out. The first is that the units in the Chaos Space Marine section reference the
keyword, and where they do, they tell you to refer toCodex: Chaos Space Marines. Orion Assault Dropship: Other than it has less attacks when degraded, entirely unchanged, same points etc. Similar to the Space Marines we get a lot of traitor variants added, along with a new stratagem Smokescreen added in order to replicte the ability that Space Marines currently get in their book, again future proofing this volume until the Chaos Space Marines book is updated! The Dreadnoughts really eat shit here. The impact was, shall we say, uneven plenty of choices were fine, but there were frequent issues with Forge World units having unintended interactions with newly released rules, and a few choices that were just a bit over-pushed that tended to be over-represented.
